Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

Proof is a fitness tracking application for group fitness competitions. This policy covers the Proof Apple Watch app and proof.fitness.

Information we collect

When you join, we store your first and last name, an account identifier, and the credentials used to connect your Watch and sign in to the website.

If you upload a profile picture or daily photos, we store those images with your account. Daily photos also include the day you select and the upload time.

With your permission, Proof reads Active Energy and, optionally, Heart Rate from Apple Health through HealthKit. Your Watch uploads daily active calorie totals and, if available, the highest heart rate for each day, along with dates and synchronization timestamps. Heart rate access is optional. We do not upload an intraday heart-rate history. The latest heart-rate reading may be displayed locally on your Watch.

Our hosting provider processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the service. The website uses a first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on the website.

How we use and share information

We use your information to maintain your account, synchronize fitness data, calculate competition scores, and display individual and team progress.

Your name, team, daily calories, daily peak heart rate, and score history are visible to signed-in participants in the competition, including participants on other teams, and to the competition organizer. Keep your access code private: it allows access to the competition website.

Your profile picture and daily photos are visible to other signed-in participants. Cloudflare stores these images for us. Uploading photos is optional, and you can delete your daily photos from your profile.

Cloudflare hosts our website, API, and database and processes information to provide those services. We do not sell your personal information or use Health data for advertising. We may disclose information when required by law.

Your choices

You control Health access in Settings → Health → Apps → Proof on your Apple Watch. You can turn off Heart Rate while keeping Active Energy enabled, or revoke all Health access. Revoking access stops future reads of that data; it does not delete information already uploaded. Removing the app also does not delete your server-side account or history.

You can sign out of the website to clear its sign-in cookie. Watch account credentials are stored using the device’s secure Keychain.

Retention, contact, and updates

We keep your account and uploaded fitness history to provide the competition and its historical results. Records are not automatically deleted when a competition ends. For privacy questions or to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account and associated data, email support@proof.fitness. If this policy changes, we will update this page and its revision date.
